Meizu 16th flagship smartphone announced

meizu-16thMeizu of China has certainly matured over the years, and their latest offering arrives in the form of the Meizu 16th smartphone. This will be their all-new flagship device, bringing a whole slew of features while making sure that it does not come with an insane price tag that other high street brands tend to do. What makes the Meizu 16th special from its predecessor? Well, it has face recognition technology, under screen fingerprints, and gesture operation among others, which we will look at right after the jump.

For folks who would like to enjoy a stock Android experience, you will most probably be disappointed with the Meizu 16th because it has the customized Flyme 7 OS that runs on top of the Android platform. However, if you are all right with that, perhaps the list of hardware specifications would be next on the list of stuff to be interested in.

There are 2 variants of the Meizu 16th: the 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage or 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage space, depending on your needs and budget. Regardless of which one you choose, both will boast of a 6.0-inch symmetrical Samsung screen paired with 2160×1080 resolution, 430cd/m² brightness, and 10000:1 contrast ratio, making it the sharpest and brightest display to date on any Meizu smartphone. A curved 3D glass body and custom-made ultra narrow left and right side frame provides a sleek and clean design, where one can pick from Midnight Black and Moonlight White color options.

A dual rear camera from Sony helps the Meizu 16th stick to the trend, while in front lies a 20MP shooter that ought to be more than capable of capturing great looking selfies regardless of the lighting conditions. As for its mTouch sensor capability with a 360° recognition angle, this will usher in a new age of interaction and security, thanks to the capacitive touch sensor working alongside a 5-fingerprints memory. Its front camera boasts of Face Recognition 2.0 capabilities that unlocks the phone with advanced AI processing in a mere 0.25 seconds. Seems to be quite the flagship that is worth checking out, right?
